Bellingham Airport, 2010
Client: Port of Bellingham
Location: Bellingham, WA
In the spring of 2010, ICON Materials began work on Bellingham International Airport. The project required the removal and replacement of the main taxiway at the airport. The replacement included all new paving, lighting and storm drainage. The main runway was leveled with some of the paving lifts being over 30 inches. New drainage was also placed along the runway. Once the lifts were completed, the entire runway was shut down for two weeks as a complete new paving of the runway was done. A 500 foot drainage tunnel was bored underneath the runway. Once the project was completed, the Boeing 757 airplanes were able to land at the airport and a new direct flight service to Hawaii begun.
