The King County landfill at Cedar Hills sets a world standard for smart waste management. As prime contractor for the landfill's recent major expansion, we excavated over 2 million cubic yards in under 3 months, using a combination of excavators, shovels, off-highway trucks and scrapers. We lined a portion of the existing landfill, screened and stockpiled 250,000 cubic yards of select material for the owner's future use, and we installed erosion control measures to protect the nearby environment. Thanks to careful coordination, the work was completed well ahead of schedule.
